In our wedding we had some beautiful flowers and foliage, but the best part (or my favourite part) were the succulents.
The lovely flower arrangements were designed by Linda and my Aunt Jennifer. Also, credit goes to Martha and Grace (cousins) and Luke's sister Angelica for being such a big help putting everything together.
I had spent the past 2 years and a bit working at a local greenhouse before I got married. It was a growing (get it?) period for me and I also learned a lot about plants, especially succulents.
After the wedding, I took a few clippings off of my bouquet to dry and saved the succulents. The succulents stayed in the car (under the seat) throughout the honeymoon, and w̶h̶e̶n̶ ̶I̶ ̶r̶e̶m̶e̶m̶b̶e̶r̶e̶d̶ they got put into sunshine for a few hours everyday.
When we got home, I took leaf cuttings from the rosettes.
They started off in a paper plate and before long they grew pink air roots, then little flowers! They have now graduated to their own pots.
We also planted a little bonsai tree during our wedding ceremony.
Hope you enjoyed this little update :) If you have any experience growing succulents, we'd love to know how it went!
