Our Thanksgiving Day started by greeting some weary travellers who had crashed in the living room sometime the previous night. (Seth, Jessica and Wesley were their names) They had stories to share about guiding in the Canadian bush and so over a breakfast of pancakes and coffee, we caught up on all the latest.
Then we bid our farewells and left for the river.
Josh, Matt and Stella were in one canoe, and Luke and I in the other.
The other canoe thought they'd enjoy their river float more by bringing a boat engine. Of course some ribbing went on about enjoying the "peaceful" lake noise and such. All in good fun ;)
By the end of the adventurous trip through a combination of navigation, lack of time and left turns we decided to turn around and they ended up towing us back to civilization.
By the time we got off the river, we had just enough time to drive and get our car and some PSL's (thank you starbucks!)...
Then we headed to the Naber's house for a delicious Thanksgiving spread! Complete with turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Following stuffing our faces, there was pumpkin pie to fill up any empty corners of our stomachs.
The evening continued with laughter, some Ava loving, and a game of Scattergories.
It was such a fun way to celebrate my first official Canadian Thanksgiving and the best company to spend it with.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
